With Thanksgiving in the rearview, it’s officially winter holiday season in NYC. Although many people are switching up the way they celebrate this year, the holidays are not canceled. The Holiday Shops at Bryant Park

With the Union Square and Columbus Circle Holiday Markets closed this year, the Holiday Shops at Bryant Park are a great way to shop local al fresco. After you’ve shopped til you dropped, hunker down with refreshments in your very own igloo. Shops are open now through January 3rd, Igloos open until early March.

Brooklyn Navy Yard Holiday Market

The Holiday Market at the Brooklyn Navy Yard has gone virtual this year. Instead of one weekend of shopping, you’ll be able to do it at your leisure from the coziest spot in your home. Purchase Brooklyn-made gifts from more than 450 vendors. Open now through January 3rd.


The Brooklyn Flea relocated to the DUMBO Archway to give Brooklynites their own holiday market. Between the featured DUMBO shops and vintage Brooklyn Flea vendors, you’re sure to find a unique gift for everyone on your list. Grab a hot beverage and take in one of the many featured live performances. Open now through December 19th.

Grand Central Virtual Holiday Fair

Usually held in the iconic transit hub, this year the fair is going virtual. Shop for gifts from one of their many vendors selling everything from crafts to toys to handbags and clothing. Open through December 24th.

Best spots in NYC for ice skating

Get some fresh air and a fun workout at the same time at one of NYC’s many ice skating rinks. Due to new safety guidelines, visitors may be required to reserve tickets ahead of time. Be sure to check each rink’s website for details.

Hours: Monday – Thursday 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Friday – Sunday 8 a.m. – 11 p.m.

Rockefeller Center

Hours: Daily from 9 a.m. – 12 a.m.

Wollman Rink in Central Park

Hours: Monday & Tuesday 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Wednesday – Saturday 10 a.m. 10 p.m.

Sunday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Vale Rink at The William Vale Hotel

Skate among skyscrapers atop the William Vale Hotel. It’s definitely an experience not to be missed. 

Hours: Wednesday – Friday 2 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday 12 p.m. – 10 p.m. 

Industry City Ice Rink Powered by Volvo

Hours: Thursday 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

 Friday 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Saturday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Sunday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
