You might be struggling to work from home and keeping yourself entertained while staying indoors. Here are just a few amazing NYC apartments that would have made it much easier for you.

With the spread of Coronavirus in the United States, New York was hit the hardest and is considered the U.S. epicenter of the pandemic. A stay-at-home mandate was put into effect starting March 22 and now has been extended at least until April 29. Those who are found violating these policies will be fined $500 to $1,000, so you should definitely stay at home.

Importance of staying at home

Most states already issued stay-at-home orders and only eight states have not implemented a statewide stay-at-home order. These include North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Arkansas. In total, there are about 19.5 million people staying indoors in the State of New York and at least 311 million people in all of the U.S. Staying at home as much as possible and practicing social distancing is an important factor to combat the Coronavirus. We are all in it together!

By staying at home for periods of time, we will not only slow down the number of new cases, but will also help protect those most vulnerable to it. The slow down of cases also prevents overflow at hospitals and allows doctors and nurses to care for everyone who needs it. It also ensures there will be enough needed medical supplies for patients, such as ventilators. Hopefully with periods of staying at home, cases will slow and eventually lead to no more new cases emerging.

The do’s and don’ts for self-quarantine

So how do you know what you can and can’t do during the self-quarantine and stay-at-home orders? Here are a few do’s and don’ts you should be aware of during this time:

Do’s

  • Stay at home either alone or only with others that live in the same house or apartment.
  • Stay at home as much as possible other than go out to buy essentials, such as groceries, medicine, etc. or going to work if you work for an essential business.
  • Keep at least 6 feet of distance between yourself and others when in public.
  • Walk or bike as much as possible instead of taking public transportation.
  • Practice solo or solitary exercise.
  • When ordering delivery, try to limit the amount of interaction for yours and the delivery person’s health by requesting the take out be left at your front door where you can pick it up.
  • Offer to help your neighbors by simply leaving a note and your number where people can see.
  • Be mindful of your neighbors since living in NYC means living in close quarters with those around you.
  • Practice patience and try to be understanding as everyone is trying their best to adjust.

Don’ts

  • Host gatherings or go out to gatherings at other people’s homes.
  • Go out for unnecessary reasons.
  • Stay close to others when out in public.
  • Take public transportation if you are able to walk or bike instead.
  • Exercise in groups, such as playing team sports.

Most luxurious apartments in NYC you’d love to self-quarantine in

Everyone is now trying to adjust to a new “normal” that doesn’t feel normal at all. What if we were to tell you some New York City apartments are perfect for working at home and indoor entertainment? Here are some New York City apartments for rent that you’d wish you could self-quarantine in.

Package service

With everyone in NYC currently staying in their homes for a period of time and worrying about going out, many have turned to online deliveries to get the things they need straight to their door or building. But if you’ve lived in a multi-floor apartment building, then you’d know how difficult it can be when so many packages are coming in at once.

This is especially true if your building’s package system only supports shared package lockers where anyone can open and touch your package or if the doorman/front office are the ones holding the packages.

Luckily, there are some great apartments in New York City that feature a package service system that allows security for your package as well as hands free-pick up. This will not only ensure no one touches or takes your delivery, but you’d also eliminate unnecessary contact with others while retrieving your item.

One apartment in NYC that features a complimentary package service is this 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. The space has beautiful floor to ceiling windows with views of Manhattan and Brooklyn, two private balconies, and an in-unit washer and dryer. The building not only has the parcel service, but has a 24 hour gym, and onsite parking. The Clinton Hill neighborhood has a variety of shops and restaurants for you to explore that are just walking distance away and is bike-friendly with CitiBike stations nearby.
